Terrible packaging causes so much wasted product

The product does what it’s intended (presumably) but the packaging awful. You loose so much product every time you use it, and it’s definitely not suitable for travelling. Would be much better if it was in a pump bottle or small tub like the eye cream.

Amazing to help treat acne!

I am 40 yrs old and I have really tried EVERYTHING to tackle my cistic acne. I have now been using this product for a month now; gradually. It has helped me sooo much with fighting against cistic acne! I use it in combination with other skinceutical products (blemish and age/ moisturisers/ cleansers); I couldn't use any other brand to be honest. These products really work; worth the value 100 %.

What a difference!

Pleasantly surprised with visible results

Helped quickly with pigmentation & Fine lines

I completely trust Skinceuticals, and I was delighted that the 0.3 worked so well! I noticed a result in the first few applications. The 0.3 Retinol is not drying and didn't leave my skin feeling sensitive or tight. This is now a part of my evening skincare routine, although not every evening . Its got a creamy consistency and its easy to smooth smaller amounts over my skin. It has helped with light brown pigmentation from sun damage and with fine lines.

Beautiful and effective retinol product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a really beautiful but somewhat unknown product. I was keen to give this a try as I like using retinol products to calm and clear my acne prone skin, and to tighten, tone, and give my skin a more youthful appearance. I was not sure whether this product would be strong enough for me as I have used a high strength prescription retinoid before, which my skin tolerated very well. However, this cream is powerful and it works. It feels gentle like a light moisturiser, without a need for any other hydrating product on top. The texture of the cream is so lovely smooth, light and hydrating, and within a few days, my hyper-pigmented acne scars (even ones that were extremely dark and visible) had faded. I had some peeling of the skin, and my complexion looked very clear and brighter. I really love this product and actually think it works better that my prescription retinoid now. This really is an excellent retinol product for anyone thinking of upgrading their beauty regime.

Easy to absorbed but not very much result

I think this would be a good first time retinol and it is so easy to apply, a fresh-feeling, great l-smelling texture, smoothes over skin easily. I like how the instructions allow you to build up to using it everyday to prevent the irritation associated with retinol. I would trust Skinceuticals to provide a high quality and reliable and safe retinol product, seeing as the market is flooded with so many “bargain” products, promising results. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a powerful product that exfoliated my skin, unclogged my pores, reduced the appearance of large pores, reduced the appearance of fine lines and gave my skin a fresher, more glowing appearance. My skin feels more plump as a result. After my first use, I did break out which is normal, it means the product is working. This stage is called the "purge" stage. This means the product is doing its job, bringing unwanted oil to the surface and unclogging. Your skin is getting used to it. As I reacted like that, I started slowly, applied it once a week for 2 weeks, moving up to 2 times in the 3rd/4th week. In the 4th week my skin started flaking a little. Again don't be disheartened your skin is ridding itself of the old layer. By the 5th week this had stopped and I'm enjoying this radiant look! I only applied at nighttime. Do remember to use sunscreen after your morning skin routine as your skin will be even more sensitive to UV rays.

Good & effective Retinol product - please use as advised

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I would have liked to have used this product for a bit longer before writing my review, as I did only use it for a short time due to dome irritation that occurred. This irritation probably came from being new to using Retinol at this potency and frequency. I followed the advise on the product label and took a break when my skin start to feel a little senstive...and taking this break worked. I used it for a couple of nights over a couple of week and in this time I really do think my skin started to look smoother. I intend to start up usage again the the next couple of week and then slowly up in frequency. With these types of skincare products I think it is really important to use as per the label, if you are not use to using or have not before then start off by introducing the product to your skin, if you get sensitivity then take a break and once back to normal start to introduce again slowly.

Fantastic product giving brilliant results

It absorbs quickly into the skin ready for my oil based products. Some irritation

Plumper skin, and gentle enough for daily use

The texture is lovely and after prolonged use I’m seeing my pores a bit less clogged, a smoother surface, and I’ve got a bit more elasticity in my skin (those dreaded fine lines around my eyes), and I have high hopes that this will continue to keep lines at bay. Expensive but seems to be effective

Fresh glowing skin

Best retinol money can buy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Everyone needs retinol in their skincare regime and this is my first port of choice as a product for that. I realised how amazing this product is when I ran out and couldn't find it in stock for some time. It's potent without being too irritating (which a lot of higher concentration retinols at other brands do). The formula is very stable and delivers on efficiently increasing my skin turnover - which I see the results of in my skin looking fresher and brighter. If I had to pick only 3 products from Skinceuticals this would be one of them (the other two being the CE ferulic / Silymarin and the brightening SFP).

More even skintone and effective at treating melasma

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using this product for nearly 3 months and am very happy with the results. If you haven't used a retinol product before you should build up gradually as instructed. I did have some occasional dry patches at first but i probably started using it too often too soon! I now use it every night with no problem. I struggle with melasma if I am not super careful in the sun and came back from a holiday abroad this summer with some patches. This product was extremely effective at fading those patches so they are no longer visible. I am hoping for a similar effect on a dark age spot I have on my face! My overall skin tone is generally improved too.

Brilliant Retinol Formulation

The product has a lovely texture and sinks in nicely to the skin. I have used lots of different retinol products would recommend this one as it is quite gentle and doesn’t cause irritation or drying if used correctly. If you are new to retinol you would still need to use a lower dosage at first but it is worth the effort. I would also recommend over other retinol products due to the formulation as even though it is a bit more expensive than others I have tried you only need a very small amount, so it will last ages.

This really works!

I've only been using it a few weeks but my skin already feels and looks much smoother and clearer. I am in my early 40s and have a lot of acne scarring, hyperpigmentation, and early wrinkles. It did slightly irritate my skin the first time I used it and I am currently only using it a couple of times a week so my skin can get used to it. Just a couple things I recommend 1. I noticed a difference in the pigmentation on my face. My pores are less noticeable, and my skin is cleaner, firmer, and smoother. Most nights, I use it, and it sinks into my skin like a serum. This retinol cream doesn't cause skin irritation or drying. I use it twice weekly and have never experienced any purging. Gentle but effective

GREAT RETINOL

Excellent Retinol

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a big retinol fan and this SkinCeuticals is as good as you would expect. It gives good results without overkill. I use retinol nightly but get occasional dry patches if a retinol is too strong, especially at turn of season. I didn't experience any issues with this retinol. A small bit goes a long way, my skin feels soft & smooth, and looks brighter too. I sometimes put moisturiser on 20 mins after retinol, no need with this as my skin feels just right. The instructions say if you are new to retinol to start of slowly and build to nightly use which is always worth doing with retinol. Would highly recommend this to retinol newbies or more experienced users too.

Magic eraser

Clearer skin - no irritation.

No irritation, and my skin (I feel) does look noticeably clearer the morning after application. Too early to say if it’s having an impact on my fine lines and discolouration, but I’m really enjoying using this product. I religiously stick to using just a pea sized amount on my face, but do find I need a tiny bit more so I can apply some to my neck too. Really like the design of the tube with the nozzle; meaning I can control the exact amount I dispense. Fabulous product, that I would happily recommend to friends and family.

A winner in comparison to other brands I used

I had so many different skincare concerns such as fine lines ,skin discolouration, and skin texture issues which were really hard to settle . Since using this retinol I have seen a a big difference in my skin such as my fine lines are a lot more smoother and the discolouration is getting better too. Also it has helped my skin texture and my skin feels alot more soft and smooth now. I will for sure continue on using this and will definitely recommend who ever looking to try retinol this is one of the best with very good ingredients and high quality product. It’s worth the price.

Does what it claims to

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used quite a few of different retinols in the past and I must say this one is the only one I have seen some really good results with its really worth the price .it exactly does what it claims to do and it’s a must for me to have this included in my skincare routine. I have seen significant reduction in the appearance of fine lines specially around my mouth which were really obvious and were really bothering me. my go to retinol

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] this has been my retinol of choice for quite some time, it really does the job! it is potent so I only use it 3x per week and if I need to then I sometimes follow with a gentle moisturiser, especially in winter! This has really helped my skin though, everything just looks that bit better, from my fine lines to my red spot marks!!

Skinceuticals are one of the most trustworthy companies to turn to for stable and properly formulated retinol. They have years and years of research and development and are backed by the resources and scientific advances of owner L’Oréal. This product caused me no irritation and was easy to spread and apply. Felt comfortable on the skin. I am an experienced retinol user and this was nicer than my usual formula. It is a time released formulation which is gentle on the skin. Highly recommended and I shall buy in future. Possibly the stronger formula of 0.5 or 1% retinol since I am experienced using it.

Gentle effective retinol

Finally! A gentle Retinol!

I’m nearing 41 and have been using strong retinols which leaves my skin crepey and need to hydrate a lot to counter act that but this actually has chamomile in it and soothing properties so it doesn’t leave you looking weathered! I love this and would prefer to switch to this going forwards as with other brands I cannot use the retinol long term so don’t end up benefiting from it. It’s easily absorbed and glides on smoothly!

An extra boost to your skincare routine

It’s nothing dramatic, however my skin somehow appears brighter and I also find that my moisturiser seems to be having more of an effect since using the retinol. High quality potent raw ingredients !

Directions not very clear

I don't like the tube as it is bit fiddly to open, also the directions are not very clear. It says 4-5 drops but as it is a cream I don't know how much to use so it was a bit of trial and error

Amazing

I started using this a while back and since then never stopped using it it’s such a great product with amazing skincare properties. It does not irritate my skin like some other retinol creams which really irritates the skin and skin starts peeling . The quality abs work of this product is amazing I must say I m very impressed it really helped my fine lines and uneven skin tone my skin looks very fresh and glowy . Also my smile lines looks very smooth and deep like before. Highly recommended

Does exactly what it says

This is my second tube of the retinol 0.3. When I first started using it I cd only use it twice a week but now use it every night. My skin is much smoother and pores much smaller. I wsuffer from slight pitted acne scarring around both sides of chin and I wish they sold the 0.5 which I think the scarring would benefit from a higher concentration .

Amazing

It's is second time using this product. First time my skin looked horrible. Like 10 years older. Second time I was absolutely shocked with the next day look. Amazing! Combined with 2.4.2 face cream was absolutely shocking. Of course my skin still hasn't built tolerance but I can just imagine how it will be when that happens. I will keep using it and recommend for sure.

Incredible!

I NEVER write reviews but I bought this last week and have used it once (first time retinol user) and not only can I see a difference but so can my partner! I used a very small amount in the evening, followed by the HA intensifier and the following morning I used the CE Ferulic Acid followed by the HA intensifier. I suffer with hormonal acne and within a couple of days the pores on my cheeks appeared visibly reduced. I bought this retinol in a set with the CE Ferulic Acid and HA intensifier and am so pleased I did as I have never seen results like this before. I'll definitely be purchasing the next level retinol once I've finished this tube.

Great for first time users as suggested

I was recommended this during a consultation about my acne scarring and pigmentation. I’m using alongside a Glycolic Acid cleanser which I use twice a week. I started to use this every 72hrs then every 48 and now every evening. My skin is significantly better, smoother and a much nicer even tone to it. I haven’t had any breakouts since I’ve been using either. Very happy even if I was hesitant at first because of the price, given that there are many cheaper retinol products on the high street but I will continue to use.
